Blairsden Fishing Report

Last Updated May 18th, 2022

Water levels are good on the Feather River. Spring temps are here and the water clarity is good. Water temps are around 50 degrees. Anglers bouncing crawlers through the rapids and into the pools are doing somewhat well. Czech nymphing continues to be the best way to fish though. PT nymphs, Hares Ear and Flashback pheasant tails under an indicator are doing great.

The docks won’t be put in the water this year at Lake Davis due to the low water levels.
The lake is at about half capacity. Clarity of water is not a factor. Water temps are around 50. Anglers are launching their boats at Camp 5 sand and are using rainbow runners, Dick nites or needlefish for rainbow trout. Anglers should troll either west to east on the north side of the island, or south to Eagle Point and back to Camp 5 in 20 feet of water. Browns and rainbows are up to 20 inches. Shore anglers fishing Mallard Cove and Honker Cove are doing better with orange power bait than night crawlers.

The dirt ramp is open for smaller boats and canoes. Anglers are trolling the north side of lake in about 15 – 20 feet of water top lining larger rapalas or flatfish at 2.5 to 3 mph. The big macks and Browns are just under the surface. Fishing should be very good up until Memorial weekend.

Lake is mostly open and the dock is out of the water. Not much information reported here yet.

No current updates.

Sardine lake is open and accessible. The best spot for Shore anglers is about one hundred yards past the boat ramp. Use orange powerbait or yellow corn best baits.
