We proudly stand behind the products that we sell and we hope you are happy with your purchase. If you need to return an online or in-store purchase, our return process is easy.
Shipping & Local Delivery
Track Your Order
When your order is shipped, we will send you an email containing a tracking link so you can stay updated with your package's location.
Shipping to Your Home
Shipping your items directly to your home is possible with a large portion of our products. Shipping is available via UPS. Shipping charges will be applied to your order. Please contact us prior to placing your online order for more information about shipping options and availability. Larger items weighing over 150 pounds, or items that require special packaging will need to be picked up in-store.
Here’s how it shipping to your home works:
- Shop on Mountainhardwareandsports.com.
- Once you have selected an item, click the 'Add to Cart' button. If you are done adding items to your cart, start the checkout process.
- Continue to proceed through the checkout process through to order completion.
- Once the order is placed, you will receive an Order Confirmation email with your shipment tracking information.
- For quicker delivery, please select Two Day shipping.
- After you complete your order, the receipt page provides you with your order number and information about the order. Keep your order number in a safe place; it will be needed for all order references.
There are shipping charges associated with any order shipping directly to your home. Shipping costs for orders placed on Mountainhardwareandsports.com are based on the weight of the total order. You will be provided with the total shipping cost for your order during checkout.
Please note, business days are Monday - Friday, excluding federal holidays within the United States.

- Two Day Shipping (If offered, estimated to arrive within 2 Business Days)
You have 30 days from the time of package delivery per the carrier, to report an issue with your order.
Local Delivery from Our Stores
Local delivery from our Truckee store is possible for your home or business. You can now find the products you need online and have them delivered to you as early as the same day! If you are trying to complete a project quickly, want to get larger sized items to your home or job site or if you just can't make it into the store, our delivery trucks are available to help you.
Deliveries are placed at your property entrance unless requested otherwise. For Same Day Delivery, orders must be placed before 11am local time and varies based on business levels for that day.
Local Delivery Pricing:
Pricing is based on delivery from our Donner Pass location in Truckee.
- Incline Village/West Shore of Lake Tahoe: $45
- North Shore Lake Tahoe (Tahoe City, Kings Beach, etc.): $35
- Olympic Valley: $25
- Truckee: FREE
Here is how local delivery works:
- Shop online for your items at Mountainhardwareandsports.com
- Add your items to your cart you want locally delivered.
- At checkout, you will be prompted to select a shipping option. Here is where you can choose local delivery as an option. You must be shipping to an address in our local delivery zones for the shipping option to show.
- Please feel free to add notes during the checkout process if you have any specific requests for the delivery.
- After completing your purchase, our store will contact you to schedule a delivery time.
- Delivery fees will be shown in checkout.
You don't have to be present to receive your local delivery. We do reserve the right to not deliver any attended or unattended items for any safety reasons.
Delivery Exceptions:
- If your order arrives damaged, incomplete or does not arrive on the expected date, please contact us about delivering your order.
- You may be charged a pickup fee if an item that was delivered from store is being returned and needs to be picked up. You will not get reimbursed the original delivery fee.

Free In-Store Pickup - Items Purchased Directly from Us
In a hurry or need something right away? Free In-Store Pickup allows you to buy online from us and pickup your items as early as today. Item(s) must be in-stock and order placed before 3pm that day.
Here’s how Free In-Store Pickup works:
- Shop at mountainhardwareandsports.com
- At checkout, select "In-Store Or Curbside PICKUP" as your shipping method.
- If your order was placed by 3pm that day and the item(s) were in stock in the store, you may pick up your order the same day it was placed.
- Once the order is placed, you will receive an Order Confirmation email.
- Next you will receive a Ready for Pickup email indicating your items are ready and available for pick up.
- When you pick up your order, be sure to have your order number in a safe place; it will be needed for all order references. You must present your order number and one form of photo ID when you pick up your order at an Ace Hardware store.
Free In-Store Pickup - Items Fulfilled from AceHardware.com or the Ace Warehouse:
When an item on www.acehardware.com is available for Free Store Pickup – Fulfilled from Warehouse, that means you can save shipping costs by choosing to have your item(s) delivered to an Ace Hardware store near you for FREE! Free Store Pickup – Fulfilled from Warehouse is available only to www.acehardware.com online customers.
Here’s how Free Store Pickup – Items Fulfilled from AceHardware.com or the Ace Warehouse:
- Shop your local Mountain Hardware and Sports location on acehardware.com.
- If your item is eligible for Free Store Pickup, it will be noted in your cart. You may choose Free Store Pickup in your cart.
- Once the order is placed, you will receive an Order Confirmation email and your items are on their way to your local store.
- Next, you will receive a Ready for Pickup email indicating your items are ready and available for pick up.
- When you pick up your order, be sure to have your order number in a safe place; it will be needed for all order references. You must present your order number and one form of photo ID when you pick up your order at an Ace Hardware store.
Please note: We will only hold your in-store pickup order for up to 7 days unless requested otherwise.
Curbside Pickup
Place your order online at Mountainhardwareandsports.com and pick up curbside at our Donner Pass store.
How it works:
- ORDER – Order on Mountainhardwareandsports.com and select "In-Store Or Curbside PICKUP" at checkout.
- DRIVE – Once you receive a confirmation email that your order is ready for pickup, head to our Donner Pass location at 11320 Donner Pass Rd. Truckee, CA
- CALL – When you arrive, call the store phone number (found on your order confirmation) and a helpful employee owner will bring out your order to you.
Please note: We will only hold your curbside pickup order for up to 7 days unless requested otherwise.

Returns & Warranties
RETURN POLICY
Defective Products
Defective merchandise must be returned within 90 days of purchase unless covered under manufacturer’s extended warranty.
A 20% restocking fee may apply to any special orders, or any products no longer carried by our stores.
Online Returns
Returning your online purchases is easy and simple. Items purchased at mountainhardwareandsports.com can be returned within 90 days from the date of purchase. Items can be returned using our Returns Portal, or they can be returned in-store at any of our locations. Item must be unused, in like-new condition, and in the original packaging.
If you purchased your item online on Acehardware.com, your purchase is eligible for return in-store within 30 days at any of our locations. Read Ace Hardware's Return Policy for more information.
- For items purchased at mountainhardwareandsports.com, visit our Returns Portal and start the process to return your online order.
- Package up your items you'd like to return with your invoice. If you don't have the invoice you recieved in your order, please write your order number on your package.
- For all Acehardware.com online orders, please follow their return process listed on their return policy.
Items purchased online at mountainhardwareandsports.com using Paypal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay are NOT eligible for in-store returns. Please use the online return process.
In-Store Returns
Items purchased at any of our locations can be returned within 90 days from the date of purchase. Item must be unused, in like-new condition, and in the original packaging. Items purchased at other Ace Hardware locations besides Mountain Hardware and Sports locations are NOT eligible for returns in our stores.
In order to return your purchases in-store, you must have:
- The original emailed receipt or exchange receipt from your purchase.
- The ability to show order details from your online order.
Returns without the original receipt may be exchanged for a store credit with manager approval.
If the original purchase was made with a credit card, we will refund the purchase to the same card that was used. The cardholder must be present. If the cardholder is not present, a store credit can be issued. If the original purchase was made with check, checks that have cleared the 10 day waiting period will be refunded cash.

Refunding Returns
Items purchased online and returned will be issued a refund to the original credit card provided, or a store credit can be applied to your account. After the refund has been processed, you will receive an email notifying you. It may take an additional 3-10 business days (depending on your payment provider and banking financial institution) for the refund to be received by you.

Manufacturer's Warranties
Many of the items that are sold on our website or acehardware.com come with a manufacturer's warranty. For additional information on the manufacturer's warranty for a specific product, you must contact the manufacturer directly.
